IBERO WELCOMES NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Ruperto Montero joins dual-language nonprofit from University of Rochester
Rochester, New York – The Ibero-American Action League, a dual-language human services agency that serves individuals of all ethnic backgrounds, announced today that Ruperto Montero has joined its leadership team. His prior experience in healthcare will serve as a great benefit to Ibero. Montero joined Ibero on November 23rd so that he could transition into the role in collaboration with former CFO, George Dickinson, who moved to Florida for health and family reasons.
“Ruperto’s experience aligns perfectly with our work here at Ibero. As a human services agency we are focused on the well-being of the individuals and families that we serve. Our financial health is just as important. We have a number of new programs in place and are confident in Ruperto’s ability to lead our finance team through their implementation and execution,” says Hilda Rosario Escher, Ibero’s president and CEO.
Ruperto most recently worked at the University of Rochester as a senior accountant. Previously he also worked at Rochester Regional Health and Action for a Better Community. He will lead Ibero’s financial operations, which also include those of Centro Cívico in Amsterdam in a newly formed parent-subsidiary relationship. He will report directly to Escher.
“This is a very significant and historic time for both Ibero and the entire Rochester community. With the addition of our new programs, and most recently our new dual-language radio station (El Poder Latino/Latino Power 97.1FM), I want to make sure we are as efficient and prosperous as possible,” says Montero.
Ruperto has a Master of Business Administration in Health Science Management from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School and is a certified public accountant.
