Message from our President

Latinos have become the largest minority in this country.  In this region, the Latino community grew by sixty percent (60%).  There are now approximately 50,000 Latinos in this region.  There has been a great deal of celebration among us about the significance of these numbers.  But as a people we must ask ourselves: will the numbers by themselves improve our quality of life?  The numbers do not mean much unless we successfully and responsibly use their influence to empower ourselves for social, political, and economic gains within the next decade in order to lead this great community forward.
Therefore, we take this opportunity to challenge every Ibero-American to do his/her part by becoming involved in the political and educational processes; by seeking higher educational, employment, and leadership goals, volunteering for different causes or mentoring a young person.  Let us not leave anyone behind.  Also, as an agency, we renew our commitment to continue providing services, leadership, and advocacy, and challenge the greater Rochester community to help us create:

"A vibrant Hispanic community whose education, prosperity, leadership and influence contributes fully to the life and success of the larger community through equitable access and participation."
